NHA HCV Waitlist is opening!

 

Opening Date - The waiting list will open on September 16, 2025, and will remain open until further notice.

 How to Apply

•                     Applications must be submitted online via Rent Café Portal: https://tinyurl.com/NHAPortal  

•                     OR scan the QR Code with your phone camera to open the link:

•                     The application portal (Rent Café) is available 24/7.

•                     Only one application per household is allowed. Duplicate applications will be rejected.

 Application Process

•                     Applications will be selected randomly through a lottery, based on available funding.

•                     Submitted applications remain active for 18 months from the date of submission.

•                     Applications not selected through the lottery process will expire after 18 months.

•                     Applicants will be notified electronically via the contact information provided.

•                     Applicants may log back into Rent Café and reapply at any time or check the status of their application.

Eligibility Requirements:

•                     Must meet income limits (see table below). This is also on the NHA website

•                     At least one household member must be a U.S. citizen or have eligible immigration status.

•                     Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

•                     Background checks and prior housing history will be reviewed.

 

NHA Local Preferences

•                    Head, Spouse, or Co-Head of Household is living and/or working in the City of Newark

•                    Veterans, that are the Head, Spouse, or Co-Head of household

•                    Seniors, 62 years or older, that are the Head, Spouse, or Co-Head of household

Como Aplicar

• Las solicitudes deben presentarse en línea a través del portal de Rent Café: https://tinyurl.com/NHAPortal  
• O escanee el código QR con la cámara de su teléfono para abrir el enlace:
• El portal de solicitudes (Rent Café) está disponible las 24 horas del día, los 7 días de la semana.
• Solo se permite una solicitud por hogar. Las solicitudes duplicadas serán rechazadas.

 

 

Proceso de Solicitud

• Las solicitudes serán seleccionadas aleatoriamente a través de una lotería, según los fondos disponibles.
• Las solicitudes presentadas permanecerán activas durante 18 meses a partir de la fecha de presentación.
• Las solicitudes que no sean seleccionadas durante el proceso de lotería vencerán después de 18 meses.
• Los solicitantes serán notificados electrónicamente a través de la información de contacto proporcionada.
• Los solicitantes pueden Volver a ingresar a Rent Café en cualquier momento para Volver a aplicar o verificar el estado de su solicit

 

 

Requisitos de Elegibilidad

• Debe cumplir con los límites de ingreso (ver tabla a continuación)
• Al menos un miembro del hogar debe ser ciudadano estadounidense o tener un estatus migratorio elegible.
• Los solicitantes deben tener al menos 18 años de edad.
• Se revisaron los antecedentes penales y el historial de Vivienda previo.

 

 

Preferencias Locales de NHA

• El jefe, cónyuge o co-jefe del hogar vive y/o trabaja en la ciudad de Newark.
• Veteranos, que sean jefe, cónyuge o co-jefe del hogar.
• Personas mayores de 62 años o más, que sean jefe, cónyuge o co-jefe del hogar.
